Design and Modelling

Design is a key element of the Company's development and manufacturing capability. A comprehensive service is offered to clients which frequently includes the development of a detailed specification to achieve their requirements.

Design schemes and detailed drawings are produced using CAD, where appropriate using solid modelling. The Company currently operates 3 seats of SolidWorks, together with a more basic CAD package, one seat of Strand 7 FEA and also Adobe Illustrator.

Recent Design Projects:

  • Hydrostatic Drive Semi - Submersible Vehicles
  • Tracked and Wheeled Carriages
  • Marine and Military Winches
  • Splitter Gearboxes
  • Heat Treatment Equipment
  • Subsea Components for Naval Applications

Our design team has experience of sub contracting a wide range of engineering disciplines that are not available in-house, such as Risk, Safety, AR&M and Finite Element design justification. This allows the Company to provide the capability to deliver a comprehensive design facility that is suited to the customer requirements, without incurring excessive overheads.

The design process is controlled in line with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
